Dogs have been a part of my life for over twenty years. We had a gentle, black giant who loved to smell the flowers in our garden and would sit very still so that butterflies could land on his nose. A chrysalis heralds the birth of a new butterfly and is a metaphor for the potential that change embodies. Each new butterfly will be searching for a friendly nose, a nose that will become integral to its very existence.
